Ikaw Lang ang Iibigin (Lit: You’re My Only Love) is a 2017 Philippine triathlon soap opera television series directed by Dan Villegas and Onat Diaz, starring Kim Chiu, Gerald Anderson, Jake Cuenca and Coleen Garcia.
The series premiered on ABS-CBN’s PrimeTanghali noontime block and worldwide on The Filipino Channel on May 1, 2017, replacing Langit Lupa.
The triathlon drama marks Chiu and Anderson’s reunion project and TV comeback, and ironically, their first daytime drama.
The story begins with young Maila Salcedo (Carla Humphries), a star athlete who is representing the Philippine Team in the Olympic SEA Games. Maila’s best friend, Victoria (Bangs Garcia), is secretly jealous and envious of her because she believes that fate has always sided with Maila better than her.
Victoria is desperate to get into the SEA Games. Meanwhile, Victoria’s suitor, Rigor (Edgar Allan Guzman) gets a way to get Victoria into the SEA Games. He attacked Maila, hitting her leg, preventing her from ever running again. This caused Victoria to replace Maila in the SEA Games and furthered her success.
Victoria decides to cut all of her ties with Maila and Rigor, when she eyes a rich businessman named Roman Dela Vega (TJ Trinidad). Years later, fate brings together Bianca (Francine Diaz), the daughter of Maila (Bing Loyzaga), and Gabriel (Yogo Singh), the son of Rigor. They form a strong friendship and did everything together.
Until one day Bianca and her family had to migrate due urgent medical treatment for her ailing father. Despite this, they vowed to remain friends no matter what.
